This is one of the more photogenic streets in Freiburg and it is intriguingly named Konviktstraße.

A banana in Basel.
I think this stencil was done by Bananensprayer, a German artist. It was found in the near the old centre of Basel, Switzerland.

Jacob Burckhardt, a Swiss historian, said that the bell tower of the Freiburg Münster “will forever remain the most beautiful spire on earth”.
It is really impressive, but I’ll let you decide if it’s the most beautiful. It’s a little difficult to just because the bell tower is being restored.
A better view of the spire can be seen on my photography site but the top is still shrouded in scaffolding.

Nothing ground shaking, but I like it.
The cathedral in Cologne is huge. Really huge.
They started building it in 1248, worked on it for over 200 years and then stopped. It still wasn’t done though. It sat unfinished for another 350 years or so and then, with a final 50 years of construction, finished it.
It holds the relics of the Three Kings. Yeah, those Three Kings.

I’ve never been through a lock before. It’s not like this one, on the river that runs around Strasbourg, is huge but you have to start somewhere. Want to see more? Check this out: https://vimeo.com/48446580

When I first came to Freiburg, I lived right in the old part of town on this street. I do miss it there.

I said that I’d grab a shot of the other gate soon. So, soon ended up being last Saturday.
Even though there’s a large painting of St. George on the front, it’s not named after him and is instead called Schwabentor.

Early morning at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof. An extended weekend in Berlin but, like all mini vacations, it was far too short.
